Job Summary

KAAF Specialist Hospital, located in Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Pharmacist to ensure the availability, proper dispensing, and management of medications and consumables. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of medications in MS Excel format and on hospital EMR to prevent stock-outs
• Process prompt requisitions of drugs and consumables in the pharmacy
• Maintain accurate records of all drugs and consumables dispensed
• Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician prescriptions and detecting incompatibilities
• Utilize hospital EMR to dispense medications through compounding, packaging, and accurate labeling
• Inform and assist patients in understanding proper usage of prescribed medications
• Maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace
• Maintain relationships with drugs and consumables suppliers
• Maintain a cabinet of all medications expiring within six (6) months or less and ensure timely replenishment before expiry
• Review and update drugs and consumables pricing quarterly and provide prompt updates to the accounts department to support hospital profitability
• Ensure monthly usage statistics of drugs are documented
• Prepare monthly pharmacy and Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) reports
• Ensure pharmacy practice license remains valid at all times
• Stay current with pharmaceutical trends through ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
• 5–7 years of hospital pharmacist experience
• Valid Federal Pharmacy Practice License

Required Skills

• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• IHMS proficiency (advantageous)
