## Title: Health and Nutrition Assistant
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our team at the Rehabilitation Empowerment and Better Health Initiative (REBHI) in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update a database of all porridge mom beneficiaries
- Work closely with community structures to follow up on implementation of porridge mom (Infant Young Child Feeding (IYCF)) activities, including cooking demonstrations, MUAC screening, hygiene promotion, and complementary feeding with support from the Nutrition Officer
- Participate in sensitization meetings with vendors before each disbursement
- Mobilize porridge mom beneficiaries with support from community nutrition mobilizers during disbursement
- Oversee and maintain constructed porridge mom kitchens to ensure they are in good condition and used appropriately
- Ensure proper documentation of all activities and prepare/share monthly reports on porridge activities
- Document all referrals and follow-up information of children with MAM using approved tools
- Support the M&E team in data collection for screening, PDMs, KAP surveys, and other nutrition-related assessments
- Supervise routine MUAC screenings by Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs)
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly summaries of all nutrition information captured
- Organize and participate in community sensitization meetings, including community entry meetings and feedback meetings with stakeholders
- Support the development and placement of informational banners
- Participate in local coordination meetings as required
- Supervise activities of CHIPS agents and community volunteers
Requirements
- Diploma in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or other relevant qualification
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in nutrition programming, particularly at community level
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Fluency in written and spoken English, Hausa, and Kanuri
- Strong observational and attention to detail abilities
