Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to join Sayed Farms Limited in Lagos. This role is central to maintaining and advancing our organizational safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures aligned with local and international standards
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures
• Monitor adherence to safety regulations (OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO standards) through regular audits and inspections
• Organize and deliver safety training sessions for employees and management to promote awareness and safety consciousness
• Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills for fire, chemical spills, and other potential emergencies
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and manage waste, pollution control, and other environmental aspects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in manufacturing companies
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations, policies, and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits
• Proficiency in hazard identification, control measures, and emergency response planning
• Experience with safety training programs and building a strong workplace safety culture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and compliance documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for maintaining HSE records
