Health and Safety Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team at Erisco Foods Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing safety policies, training employees on safety protocols, investigating incidents, monitoring compliance, and maintaining accurate safety records. This role plays a key part in fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across the organization
• Develop, implement, and review workplace health and safety policies
• Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective measures
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to health and safety activities
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the workplace

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a health and safety role
• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Occupational Health Specialist (COHS), OSHA, or NEBOSH
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
