Job Summary
The Head of Senior Quality Control is responsible for leading and overseeing the QC function to ensure all products meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role manages QC labs, testing protocols, documentation, compliance, and cross-functional quality initiatives while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor the QC team, including analysts, chemists, and technicians
- Plan, assign, and monitor daily QC activities, ensuring timely testing and release of materials and products
- Oversee routine and non-routine testing for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods
- Ensure calibration, qualification, and maintenance of all QC instruments and equipment
- Approve analytical methods, SOPs, and testing procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (SON, ISO, FDA, FSSAI, WHO, HACCP depending on industry)
- Manage internal and external audits; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Coordinate with Production, QA, R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Procurement to resolve quality issues
- Support new product development with analytical method development and validation
- Ensure robust documentation aligned with regulatory and industry guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related field
- 8–10+ years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Experience operating AA analyzer and IV equipment
- Previous experience working in top FMCG or top packaging companies
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR, titrations, microbiological testing—depending on industry)
- Solid understanding of GMP/GLP/ISO standards and regulatory expectations
