## Title: Head of Quality Control

Job Overview

Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group is seeking a qualified Head of Quality Control to lead quality management, food safety, and regulatory compliance across our diversified agricultural operations in Lagos, Nigeria.

Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and implement a Quality Strategy that aligns with business goals, customer requirements, and regulatory standards (NAFDAC, SON, ISO, HACCP)
  • Define and update Quality and Food Safety Policies, ensuring effective communication, understanding, and implementation across all operational units
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs and performance dashboards for management review
  • Serve as Management Representative for ISO, HACCP, GMP, and other external audits
  • Liaise with the Group and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and certifications are maintained or renewed as required

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Oversee quality management systems (QMS) across poultry operations, feed mill processing, aquaculture, distribution, and retail
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards
  • Lead internal audits, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans (CAPA)
  • Oversee quality control testing, microbiological analysis, and water/feed/broiler testing in the company laboratory
  • Ensure traceability of all inputs and outputs across the production and distribution chain

Product & Process Quality

  • Set quality standards and product specifications for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods
  • Oversee sensory evaluation, shelf-life studies, and customer complaint analysis to drive continuous improvement
  • Work with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to minimize product losses, defects, and contamination risks
  • Approve new suppliers and monitor supplier quality performance
  • Ensure robust quality monitoring at critical control points (CCPs) in all processes

Food Safety & Biosecurity

  • Develop and implement Food Safety Programs across farms and processing units
  • Ensure effective collaboration between the Quality and Biosecurity teams to prevent disease outbreaks
  • Conduct periodic assessments and audits to maintain biosecurity standards
