## Title: Head of Purchasing

About the Role

A reputable international energy services organization seeks a dedicated and experienced Head of Purchasing to lead their procurement function in Lagos, Nigeria.

Service Dimensions

  • 100 active contracts estimated at $5,157m with annual turnover of $800m via 500 orders
  • Material purchases of $32m from over 300 purchase orders per annum
  • Decentralized purchases estimated at $0.08m via 10 orders
  • Approximately 16,000 registered suppliers with 100 new supplier applications per year
  • Importation of 800 tons sea freight and 20 tons air freight via 1,000 importation files
  • Procurement tools including UNISUP, AGORA, ARIBA, AVL, e-TRACE, and NIPEX

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance of all purchasing processes with internal company rules and applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensure application of company and affiliate general terms and conditions for equipment purchases
  • Maintain proper administration and filing of all purchasing documents with required approvals and circulation forms
  • Ensure all purchasing activities meet audit requirements to minimize potential partner claims or legal actions
  • Implement company global procurement directives within the team

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and organize the purchasing entity
  • Coordinate and manage a team of buyers
  • Handle purchases in the designated lab office through purchase requisition assignments
  • Maintain adequate follow-up with user departments
  • Participate in complex and difficult negotiations

Stakeholder Management

Work effectively with foreign and local manufacturers, suppliers, other subsidiaries, user departments, government ministries and agencies, banks, scanning companies, and other third parties.
