## Title: Head of Marketing & Communications

Position Summary

We are seeking a Head of Marketing & Communications to lead Teach for Nigeria's media, communications, and public relations strategy. In this role, you will have a direct impact on positioning and promoting the organization's brand, increasing its visibility, and driving public understanding of our mission and impact. You will leverage national, local, and youth-based media channels to advance key organizational goals.

Mission for the Role

  • Lead Teach for Nigeria's communication efforts to ensure organizational key messages effectively reach all priority target audiences: prospective applicants, prospective and existing corporate donors, policy and decision-makers, and school principals
  • Lead marketing efforts and work with the Program team to ensure the organization generates a sufficient number of quality registrations and applications for the Teach for Nigeria Program
  • Serve as an effective leader of the Marketing and Communications team by developing overall team vision and strategy, establishing working processes and structures, and fostering team performance
  • Act as the ultimate organizational brand champion, develop internal brand stewardship among staff, teachers, alumni, and supporters, and ensure brand alignment in all external communications and marketing materials
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional journalists to secure positive and sufficient media coverage of the organization's work and impact
  • Model organizational values within the Teach for Nigeria community and serve as an engaged member of the organizational leadership team

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of target audience characteristics, interests, preferences, and communication needs
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee team management, staff development, and performance of the Marketing and Communications department
  • Manage brand positioning and ensure consistency across all organizational touchpoints
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with media contacts and stakeholders
