Head of Health & Safety Compliance

Position Overview

Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartments is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Health & Safety Compliance to lead the organization's health and safety strategy and ensure full compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and internal standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing robust safety systems, promoting a strong safety culture, and minimizing workplace risks across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's health and safety compliance framework
• Ensure compliance with national and international health and safety legislation and standards
• Advise senior management on health and safety risks, obligations, and best practices
• Lead safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all sites and operations
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective and preventive actions
• Establish and monitor health and safety KPIs and performance reports
• Lead, mentor, and manage the health and safety team
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness, and engagement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in a senior health and safety leadership or compliance role
• In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and standards (e.g., ISO 45001)
• Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to safety excellence

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent
• Experience in the Hospitality Industry
