## Title: Head of Health, Safety and Environment

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive the implementation of the HSE strategy
  • Ensure the workplace is monitored and fully compliant with all applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations
  • Use labels, signs, posters, floor marking, and color coding to warn employees about potential hazards
  • Maintain and communicate Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to all employees
  • Document safety inspection results, monitor accident and injury investigations, ensure corrective actions are taken, and provide recommendations to prevent similar incidents
  • Identify areas requiring training and certification to meet standards imposed by legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, and HSE guidance
  • Ensure all accident reports are recorded in a timely, complete, and accurate manner
  • Present company-related health and safety matters to management at regular intervals
  • Establish and maintain an adequate health and safety training programme while fostering a strong safety culture among employees
  • Stay current with changes in legislation and alert management to any relevant new requirements
  • Ensure all necessary reviews directed by regulatory authorities are appropriately implemented
  • Recommend control measures and advise on the standard of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) issued to employees
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare comprehensive reports on all company operations
  • Investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents and record findings on relevant forms
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the power distribution sub-sector or related experience in the power industry
  • Membership of ISPON is compulsory
