## Title: Head of Financial Control
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified professional to oversee and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting. The Head of Financial Control will implement and maintain effective financial controls, support strategic decision-making for the Bank, manage financial activities, and ensure financial information is available to all users.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Review bank reconciliation statements and resolve outstanding issues
- Review daily postings into the General Ledger
- Create General Ledgers for new transactions and banks
- Submit statutory returns and reports to regulators (CBN, NDIC, CAC, etc.) on a timely basis
- Prepare and allocate budgets
- Monitor and control expenses
- Liaise with statutory bodies and government agencies (CBN, NDIC, LIRS, FIRS, etc.)
- Work with compensation officers, internal control teams, and external auditors
- Liaise with banks on finance-related issues
- Attend management meetings, credit reviews, credit appraisals, and general meetings
- Compute depreciation and amortization
- Prepare salary journals and posting
- Reconcile bank books and records including prepayments, sundry creditors, sundry customers, and unpaid salaries
- Maintain and update fixed assets registers and schedules
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director
Required Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Minimum HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent qualification (Master's degree is an added advantage)
- Professional membership required: ACA, ACCA, and/or MCP
- 10–15 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in Microfinance or Commercial Banking
- Excellent written communication skills
