Head of Engineering at Alert Microfinance Bank

An established company is recruiting for the following position. Role Summary - The Head of Engineering will oversee engineering teams and ensure systems are secure, scalable, highly available, and compliant, while enabling rapid product innovation. - This role collaborates closely with the CTO to bridge business strategy, product delivery, and engineering execution, making technology a competitive advantage. Key Focus Areas - Engineering leadership & strategy aligned with business goals - Platform architecture (core transaction processing, payments, APIs, microservices) - Agile delivery, DevOps & SRE practices - Security, risk & regulatory compliance (PCIDSS, NDPR/GDPR, Open Banking, CBN) - Team building, performance management & talent development - Vendor, cost & infrastructure optimization Required Experience - 7+ years in software engineering, 3+ years in engineering management - Strong FinTech / Banking / Payments background - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD & DevOps - Handson expertise in Microservices, REST APIs, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Postgres - Proven ability to scale highvolume, realtime transaction systems.
