Job Purpose
To provide strategic financial leadership and ensure sound fiscal management across the school. The Head of Accounts will lead the finance team in delivering accurate financial analysis, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the school's short- and long-term strategic growth plans through effective budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Role Overview
The Head of Accounts is a key member of the school's leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations. This includes financial planning, performance reporting, risk management, and ensuring robust financial systems are in place to support ongoing institutional development. The role requires strategic insight, hands-on financial management, and experience managing complex assets and capital expenditures.
Reporting Structure
The Head of Accounts is appointed by the Director of Schools in consultation with the Head of School and HR. The post holder reports directly to the Director of Schools and, in their absence, to the Head of School.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Financial Leadership
- Lead and manage the Accounts team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement financial strategies and policies that align with the school's vision for growth and sustainability
- Provide high-level financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by the Board and senior leadership
Budgeting, Planning, and Reporting
- Prepare and oversee the annual budget, forecasts, and long-term financial models
- Monitor financial performance and advise leadership on variances, trends, and opportunities for cost optimization
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders
