## Title: Head Nurse
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Head Nurse to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will oversee all nursing activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire, mentor, and manage nursing staff to maintain excellence in clinical practice and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to all nursing staff across departments
- Ensure that patient care is delivered safely, efficiently, and compassionately
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and protocols
- Coordinate nursing schedules, rosters, and shift allocations to ensure adequate staffing
- Oversee patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes for seamless operations
- Monitor nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
- Conduct regular ward rounds to assess care standards and staff performance
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate continuous professional development programs
- Enforce infection prevention and control measures across all units
- Maintain effective communication channels between management and the nursing team
- Handle patient complaints or concerns professionally and promptly
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to uphold hospital standards
- Ensure that medical supplies, consumables, and equipment are adequately stocked and properly utilized
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
