## Title: Head of Legal Services

Position Overview

We are seeking a Head of Legal Services for a leading manufacturing company based in Nnewi, Anambra State. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, proactive, and strategic legal counsel to safeguard the company's interests. You will ensure legal compliance, manage risk, and oversee all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, including contracts, corporate governance, dispute resolution, and statutory compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements, including supply agreements, sales contracts, joint ventures, NDAs, service level agreements, and procurement contracts to protect the company's interests.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and listing requirements of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and other regulatory bodies.
  • Support the Company Secretary in organizing board and committee meetings, preparing minutes, and maintaining statutory records.
  • Provide timely legal advice to management and departments on commercial transactions, employment law, intellectual property, regulatory inquiries, and operational risks.
  • Manage all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes involving the company; instruct and manage external counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Act as a key contact for regulatory bodies on legal matters; monitor changes in legislation and regulations affecting the manufacturing sector and advise the company on necessary actions.
  • Develop, implement, and review corporate policies from a legal and compliance perspective, including the company's code of conduct and anti-bribery policies.
  • Identify legal risks associated with business operations and develop mitigation plans; provide staff training on legal and compliance matters.
