DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounts
Position Overview:
Our client is a manufacturing company based in Nnewi, Anambra State, seeking to hire a Head, Financial Control (Chief Financial Officer) to provide strategic financial leadership for the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring the company has the capital required for growth, the financial resilience to withstand market volatility, and a clear, disciplined path to long-term profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Capital Allocation
- Evaluate expansion strategies
- Determine the capital structure of the organization to fund operations while minimizing the cost of capital.
- Appraising and approving large-scale Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) for capacity and business expansion.
- Commodity hedging, through managing the risk of price spikes in raw materials (e.g., copper, aluminum, and compounds) using financial derivatives, forecasting and forward contracts.
- Manage foreign exchange (FX) exposure.
- Ensure the company has adequate insurance and contingency funds for supply chain disruptions or factory disasters.
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors on the financial health and strategic direction of the Company.
- Managing relationships with private investors, commercial banks, and credit rating agencies.
- Leading negotiations for credit lines, term loans, or preparing the company for investors and lenders.
- Reviewing the entire manufacturing process to identify where the company can gain a competitive advantage through cost leadership or premium pricing.
- Driving the implementation of advanced ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and AI-driven analytics to move from \"reporting the past\" to \"predicting the future.\"
- Leading the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, which is increasingly vital for manufacturing companies to secure green financing and maintain social licenses to operate.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Finance, Accounting, , Economics, or Business Administration.
- An MBA (with a finance focus) or a Master’s in Finance (MSF) is highly preferred.
- Professional Certifications; ACCA, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
- 8 to 10 years in senior finance roles (e.g., Financial Controller, Finance Director, or Head of Finance).
