Job description

We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening. Position Overview: - The Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and operational processes within the supermarket. - The role focuses on ensuring financial accuracy, preventing fraud, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct regular internal audits of store operations, inventory, cash handling, and financial records - Review daily sales, expenses, stock movement, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy - Assess compliance with internal policies, procedures, and management directives - Identify risks, control gaps, and instances of fraud or wastage, and recommend corrective actions - Monitor inventory controls to minimize losses, pilferage, and shrinkage - Review procurement, supplier payments, and expense management processes - Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans - Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure implementation - Support management in improving operational efficiency and internal controls - Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications: & Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field - 2–4 years experience as an Internal Auditor or in a similar role (retail or supermarket experience is an advantage) - Strong knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and financial reporting - Good understanding of inventory management and retail operations - High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Ability to work independently and handle confidential information Skills: & Competencies: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent reporting and documentation skills - Ability to identify risks and recommend practical solutions - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Time management and ability to meet deadlines
