## Title: Ground Support Equipment Operator

Position Overview

Join Air Peace as a Ground Support Equipment Operator and play a vital role in maintaining safe and efficient airport operations. You will perform comprehensive operation and maintenance tasks on ground support equipment in accordance with OEM-approved documentation, Air Peace standards, and all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of ground support equipment, including pushback tractors, baggage conveyor belts, air start units, ground power units (GPUs), lavatory/water service trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, and scissor lifts
  • Position aircraft stairs, connect ground power, and assist with aircraft pushback, towing, and maneuvering on the ramp
  • Conduct mandatory pre- and post-operation inspections on all GSE to ensure serviceability and report mechanical issues immediately
  • Efficiently load, unload, and transport baggage and cargo according to load plan instructions
  • Adhere to strict safety regulations, conduct Foreign Object Debris (FOD) checks, and operate safely in all weather conditions
  • Coordinate with flight crews, ground personnel, and air traffic control to ensure smooth ramp operations
  • Perform general maintenance tasks on equipment
  • Execute other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • HND (minimum qualification)
  • At least 3 years of ground support equipment operation and maintenance experience
  • Valid Nigerian driving licence
  • Knowledge of aviation legislation and regulations
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications
  • Understanding of human factors application

Additional Skills

  • Welding knowledge (preferred)

  • Achieve 95% ground support equipment availability
  • Quality of component and equipment maintenance (MTBF)
  • Incident reduction and safety metrics
