## Title: Graduate Trainee - Analytical Chemist

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for a Graduate Trainee position in Analytical Chemistry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical skills while working in a professional laboratory environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and standards in the laboratory
  • Sample incoming raw materials and perform laboratory tests to ensure materials meet specifications before receipt into warehouse
  • Prepare reagents in line with SOP and ensure they are well labelled
  • Carry out physico-chemical analysis on in-process and finished products in accordance with defined standard operating procedures and ensure results are well documented in QA records
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and work benches in good condition
  • Verify, calibrate, and document laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct routine auditing of laboratory stock chemicals and glassware, and submit reports to QA Manager
  • Ensure the laboratory meets Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards
  • Track and monitor performance levels in all operations related to quality, process, and equipment through data collation, analysis, storage, and dissemination to the QA Manager
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports and submit to the QA Manager
  • Comply with and enforce PPE usage, issuance, and replacement procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum B.Sc. Second Class Upper in Analytical Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry from a Nigerian University
  • Not more than 30 years old
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset
  • Ability to handle and use basic laboratory equipment and apparatus
  • Good knowledge of Quality Assurance (ISO) standards and regulatory policies (NAFDAC, SON)
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Good PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Flexibility in approach to work and shift patterns
