## Title: Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme

About the Opportunity

The Federal Ministry of Works invites applications from qualified graduate mechanical engineers to participate in its Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme. This initiative aims to strengthen national technical capacity, empower young Nigerians, and support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.

Through this programme, participants will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and project-based exposure while contributing to the execution of ongoing Federal Government construction and infrastructure works. Eligible applicants will be deployed to contractors handling Federal Ministry of Works projects within or near their respective regions.

Programme Overview

Participants will undergo structured practical training and temporary engagement designed to:

  • Enhance professional competence and employability
  • Transfer modern construction technology and methods
  • Provide real-world project experience

Programme Objectives

  • Equip young engineers with hands-on experience in modern construction methods
  • Build a sustainable local talent pipeline for Nigeria's infrastructure development
  • Reduce youth unemployment through structured, short-term engagement
  • Strengthen project delivery by integrating trained local support personnel

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nigerian citizen aged 18–35 years
  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized university
  • Currently unemployed and not engaged in government service or full-time employment
  • Proof of NYSC completion, exemption, or exclusion
  • Reside in (or be willing to work within) any of the Local Government Areas in Nigeria
