Geophysicist III at Scruples Resources

About the Role

We are expanding our dynamic team and seeking an experienced Geophysicist III to support and enhance our 2D/3D seismic and wellbore acquisition programs across the organization. In this role, you will interface with operating groups, technical specialists, and vendors to deliver 2D/3D seismic and borehole seismic survey acquisition solutions that safely meet organizational goals and commitments. You may also serve as a Formation Evaluation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage post-stack and pre-stack seismic inversion and AVO analysis
• Conduct seismic attribute analysis to define structural and depositional environment/facies
• Apply geophysical expertise to unconventional play evaluation
• Provide technical leadership in 2D/3D seismic acquisition and borehole seismic survey solutions
• Collaborate with operating groups and external vendors on project delivery
• Support Formation Evaluation work as required
• Mentor and coach team members on geophysical interpretation techniques

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Geotechnical or Geophysical Sciences
• Previous experience in a closely related geophysical position
• Strong structural geology background with experience in all tectonic systems, geologic environments, and reservoir types
• Demonstrated expertise in carbonate interpretation
• Sound knowledge of seismic processing and seismic acquisition operations
• Experience interpreting gravity and magnetic data

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Advanced geology and geophysical interpretation skills
• Advanced petrophysical analysis skills in siliciclastic settings
• Proficiency in computing applications (Geology & Petrel)
• Geoscience computing skills
• Strong knowledge of petroleum geology in the local region
• Ability to work effectively in diverse work groups
• Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities
