About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Geography and Agricultural Science Teacher to join our expanding team at Greenland Hall in Lagos, Nigeria. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students through integrated instruction in both subjects, combining theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world learning experiences.

Core Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum Development

• Deliver Specialized Content:
  • Geography: Teach a comprehensive curriculum covering physical geography (landforms, climate, weather), human geography (population, culture, urbanization), and geospatial technologies (GIS)
  • Agricultural Science: Instruct on crop production, animal husbandry, soil science, plant biology, sustainable farming practices, and agribusiness
• Develop engaging lesson plans, lectures, and activities that integrate both subjects—such as studying soil erosion (Geography) in relation to crop yield (Agricultural Science)
• Facilitate practical, real-world learning experiences, including fieldwork (geographical surveys) and laboratory/farm-plot experiments (soil testing, seed germination)
• Manage and maintain specialized equipment and resources, including lab materials, farming tools, weather instruments, and mapping software

Student Assessment and Support

• Create and administer various assessments including exams, projects, practical demonstrations, and fieldwork reports to evaluate student understanding and application of concepts
• Coach students in essential skills: data analysis, map reading, scientific inquiry, and practical farming techniques
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment in the classroom, laboratory, and outdoor settings (e.g., school garden or plot)
• Advise and mentor students interested in careers related to environmental science, agriculture, horticulture, planning, or resource management

Administrative and Professional Duties

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations
• Collaborate with department colleagues to coordinate curriculum and share resources
