## Title: General Secretary / CEO
Position Overview
The General Secretary/CEO serves as the head of the Secretariat and reports directly to the Board through the Chairman. This role is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating all activities of the Secretariat, including the implementation of YMCA policies and initiatives designed to achieve the organization's vision, values, and mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize statutory meetings, handle correspondence, take minutes, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Secretariat
- Implement Association policies, manage governing documents, and oversee compliance with board resolutions
- Manage accounts, oversee business arms, develop budgets, and monitor grants and commercial investments
- Recruit and manage members, maintain the membership register, and build relationships with key strategic partners
- Contribute to project design, draft funding proposals, and explore collaboration opportunities
- Represent the Association at relevant events and networks
Minimum Requirements
- First degree in Social Science, Administration, Development, or a related field
- MA, MSc., MBA, or professional certification (an added advantage)
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience, including management-level experience
- Age between 25 and 50 years
Key Skills Required
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with ability to plan and coordinate meetings, handle correspondence effectively, oversee Secretariat operations, and maintain accurate records
- Leadership and team management capabilities with strong supervisory skills to coordinate Secretariat staff
Contract Terms
This position is contractual for 2 years, subject to renewal.
