Position Overview
The GBV and MHPSS Officer is responsible for integrating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) components into all aspects of project activities. This role ensures that protection principles are effectively mainstreamed across operations, providing technical guidance on GBV and MHPSS programming while coordinating assessments and implementing strategies that safeguard the safety, dignity, and rights of vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation and Coordination
- Lead implementation of GBV and MHPSS activities in line with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational policies
- Conduct regular protection risk assessments to identify GBV and psychosocial concerns among affected populations
- Integrate GBV prevention, response, and MHPSS principles into all project activities
- Ensure referral pathways for GBV survivors and individuals requiring psychosocial support are functional, confidential, and survivor-centered
- Work closely with the Protection Manager to develop and monitor GBV and MHPSS work plans and budgets
Case Management and Psychosocial Support
- Provide direct psychosocial support and case management to GBV survivors and individuals with MHPSS needs in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Supervise and mentor case workers and community-based volunteers
