Position Overview
The GBV and MHPSS Officer is responsible for integrating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) components into all aspects of project activities, ensuring that protection principles are effectively mainstreamed. The officer provides technical guidance on GBV and MHPSS programming, coordinates related assessments, and supports the development and implementation of strategies that safeguard the safety, dignity, and rights of vulnerable populations. The position requires close collaboration with community stakeholders, implementing partners, and relevant government agencies to identify protection risks, develop mitigation measures, and ensure that all project interventions adhere to international humanitarian protection standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation and Coordination
- Lead the implementation of GBV and MHPSS activities in line with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational policies
- Conduct regular protection risk assessments to identify GBV and psychosocial concerns among affected populations
- Integrate GBV prevention, response, and MHPSS principles into all project activities
- Ensure referral pathways for survivors of GBV and individuals in need of psychosocial support are functional, confidential, and survivor-centered
- Work closely with the Protection Manager to develop and monitor GBV and MHPSS work plans and budgets
Case Management and Psychosocial Support
- Provide direct psychosocial support and case management to GBV survivors and individuals with MHPSS needs in line with standard operating procedures
- Supervise and mentor case workers and community-based volunteers
