Financial Accounting / Business Studies Teacher

Position Overview

Blooms Academy is seeking a knowledgeable, committed and result-driven Financial Accounting and Business Studies teacher to deliver high-quality instruction that develops learners' financial literacy, business awareness and analytical thinking. The successful candidate will prepare students for internal and external examinations while relating concepts to real-world business and economic contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Financial Accounting and Business Studies for secondary school learners
• Teach core accounting concepts including bookkeeping, financial statements, cost and management accounting basics
• Deliver Business Studies topics such as entrepreneurship, marketing, production, management and business finance
• Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, IGCSE or other relevant external examinations
• Develop and administer tests, assignments and projects to assess students' understanding
• Use real-life case studies, simulations and practical examples to enhance learning
• Maintain accurate academic records, lesson plans and assessment data
• Provide academic guidance and career insight related to accounting, finance and business pathways
• Participate in departmental planning, staff meetings and professional development activities
• Uphold school policies, classroom discipline and safeguarding standards

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
• Teaching qualification (TRCN, PGDE or equivalent)
• Proven experience teaching Financial Accounting and/or Business Studies at secondary school level
• Strong knowledge of current curriculum requirements and examination standards
