Finance Officer at Opticom Finance Limited

About the Role

Opticom Finance Limited is recruiting a Finance Officer to join our finance team in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Head of Finance in delivering comprehensive financial management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review all financial transactions posted to the General Ledger on the company's accounting and transaction systems, including disbursements, repayments, investments, and other inflows
• Supervise the posting of all transactions by posting officers immediately upon execution
• Review all posted transactions daily to identify and correct any posting errors
• Reconcile bank statements monthly and resolve any discrepancies arising from the reconciliation process
• Maintain the Company's Fixed Asset Register
• Prepare monthly payroll and process payments within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Prepare monthly Tax and Pension remittance schedules and process remittances within defined SLAs
• File monthly tax returns promptly
• Generate and distribute investment advice and maturity schedules to investors periodically
• Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of departmental records
• Support the Head of Finance in preparing Management Accounts and other financial reports
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance & Admin

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of BSc or HND in Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
• Proficiency with accounting software and technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualifications (ICAN, ACA, ACCA)
