Finance Officer at Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Finance Officer to join Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) in Lagos, Nigeria. You will serve as the dedicated financial and operations focal person for our programmes, managing all financial records, budgets, and cash operations while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Programme Support

• Facilitate and manage the financing of procurement processes, staff remunerations, and other programme expenses
• Manage all financial records for the project
• Provide financial status reports and manage the programme budget to ensure proper spending allocation and prevent budget overruns
• Develop comprehensive financial reports at the end of each project and fiscal year for donor reporting
• Analyse and report the budget situation to senior management
• Assess budget burn rate to verify compliance with guidelines, codes, and procedures

Cash Management

• Maintain regular contact with banking partners on operational matters
• Support the operation, control, and management of bank and petty cash in accordance with LPF financial policies
• Monitor and forecast periodic cash requirements
• Prepare and submit periodic financial reports and bank reconciliations
• Implement necessary corrections to ensure accuracy
• Keep staff informed for timely action on financial matters

Financial Planning and Risk Management

• Act as the Financial Desk Officer, preparing payment instruments (vouchers, mandates, etc.)
• Provide technical and operational assistance in financial planning processes
• Support budget planning, implementation, and preparation
• Review financial and compliance risks in all office transactions and flag issues requiring management action
• Offer technical advice during proposal writing, strategic planning, and income projection

Compliance and Capacity Building

• Promote compliance with ethical standards in the management of LPF's finance and resources
• Organize and participate in training for staff and stakeholders
• Support office operations as required
