## Title: Fibre Optics Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fibre Optics Engineer to support the planning, installation, testing, and maintenance of fibre optic networks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of fibre-based communication systems to support high-speed data transmission across our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and design fibre optic network layouts (FTTH, FTTx, Metro Fibre)
- Install, splice, terminate, and test fibre optic cables (both underground and aerial)
- Perform fault diagnosis and repair of fibre optic links using tools such as OTDR, power meters, and splicing machines
- Carry out site surveys, prepare documentation (e.g., as-built drawings, test reports), and ensure all installations comply with standards
- Monitor and maintain the performance of the fibre network, responding to outages and degradation issues
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance
- Support the upgrade and expansion of fibre infrastructure to meet growing capacity needs
- Ensure safety practices and regulatory compliance in all fibre-related operations
- Provide technical support and training to junior engineers or field teams
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
- 2–5 years' experience working with fibre optic technologies
Technical Skills
- Proficient in OTDR, optical power meter, and fusion splicing equipment
- Strong understanding of fibre optics transmission theory, GPON, and DWDM systems
- Knowledge of network design tools and CAD software is an advantage
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ITU, IEEE, TIA/EIA)
