A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role. Position Overview:
  • As a Farm Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organising, and executing farming activities to maximise yield and profitability.
  • Your role involves managing resources, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and livestock care.
  • Develop and implement farming plans, schedules, and budgets to optimise productivity and profitability.
  • Monitor crop yields, livestock health, and environmental conditions to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Supervise and train farm workers, contractors, and seasonal labourers.
  • Maintain and repair farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
  • Manage inventory levels of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and other farm inputs.
  • Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
  • Implement sustainable farming practices to conserve resources and minimise environmental impact.
  • Coordinate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other agricultural professionals as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of crop yields, expenses, and revenue.
  • Market farm products to buyers, distributors, or direct consumers.
  • Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments.
  • Participate in agricultural research, trials, or extension programs.
  • Represent the farm in community events, agricultural fairs, or industry associations.
Requirements: and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agronomy, or related field.
  • Proven experience in farm management or agricultural production.
  • Knowledge of crop cultivation, livestock management, and farm operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of agricultural technology, machinery, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental laws, and agricultural policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and unforeseen challenges.
