Farm Maintenance Engineer (Onsite) at Green Space Farms (GSF)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Farm Maintenance Engineer to maintain all mechanical equipment across our farm locations and projects in Lagos. The successful candidate will ensure optimal functionality of poultry and farm equipment while adhering to safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all poultry equipment including manure scrapers, feed mill equipment, poultry cages, feeder systems, and manure processing equipment
• Maintain all mechanical farm implements such as brush cutters, mowers, and sprayers
• Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning and locate damage, defects, or wear
• Inspect and evaluate equipment condition across all farm locations
• Supervise maintenance, repair, and overhaul of farm machinery and fogging systems
• Supervise servicing of generators, vehicles, UTVs, and bikes to maintain functionality
• Oversee installation and repairs of cages, plumbing, and cooling systems
• Maintain detailed repair and maintenance records with proper documentation
• Recommend and source quality farm equipment as needed
• Provide technical support to farm managers and feed mill operators by understanding their needs and providing solutions
• Work collaboratively with farm managers to assess equipment problems
• Clean equipment, parts, and tools to maintain them in good working order
• Ensure all functioning equipment operates within safety standards and regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven ability to carry out metal welding and fabrication

Preferred Qualifications

• Very good welding and fabrication skills
• Experience in mechanical assembly
• Strong understanding of electrical controls
