## Title: Fabric & Production Materials Shopper – RTW Factory

Position Overview

A dynamic team is expanding and seeking experienced talent for the role of Fabric & Production Materials Shopper. This position requires a professional with proven expertise in fabric sourcing and supply for fashion production.

Position Details

  • Positions Available: 2
  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria
  • Salary: ₦70,000 – ₦100,000 monthly (performance-based review possible after several months)
  • Accommodation: Available
  • Working Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible hours (market-dependent); occasional Saturdays when production demand is high

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience
  • Previous experience buying fabrics and production materials for fashion houses or ready-to-wear (RTW) brands required
  • This role is not a training position

Core Responsibilities

Fabric Sourcing & Market Operations

  • Source unisex fabrics suitable for RTW production, couture, asoebi, and structured garments
  • Demonstrate full familiarity with Lagos fabric markets, particularly Tejuosho Market and Oshodi Market
  • Station in markets as needed and navigate supplier relationships confidently

Fabric Knowledge (Non-Negotiable)

  • Possess established knowledge of fabric types: crepe, silk, asooke, cotton, linen, and suiting fabrics
  • Understand fabric blending for structure versus flow
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fabric behavior after washing
  • Assess fabric suitability for specific garments: shirts, pants, dresses, blazers, jumpsuits, and skirts

Creative & Advisory Role

  • Regularly introduce new fabrics to the production team
  • Suggest appropriate uses for each fabric and assess suitability for mass RTW or limited couture production
  • Advise on color trends, texture combinations, and fabric durability for repeated production

Cost Control & Negotiation

  • Negotiate competitive prices without compromising quality
  • Prevent overpricing, substitution, or fabric downgrade
  • Work within factory budget limits

Documentation & Account Management

  • Maintain accurate records of fabric purchases and supplier accounts
  • Track inventory and delivery timelines
  • Document fabric specifications and sourcing details for production reference
