Job Description
- We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver who is skilled in driving both light and heavy-duty vehicles, including Canter Truck, Iveco Truck, and Chevrolet vehicles.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, safety consciousness, physical fitness and good knowledge of road regulations.
- In this position, the candidate will be responsible for vehicle inspections, adhering to traffic laws, maintaining delivery schedules, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and vehicle care.
- Safely drive and operate company vehicles including Canter Truck, Iveco Truck, and Chevrolet
- Perform regular safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before and after each trip.
- Ensure all vehicle papers are kept in the car and escalate before they are due for renewal.
- Ensure that all necessary internal paperwork and documentation are in order before transporting goods and passengers.
- Dress neatly and in accordance to company dress code.
- Transport staff, goods, and materials to assigned destinations as required safely and on time.
- Assist with other logistical or warehouse duties as required.
- Assist with loading and offloading of goods when required
- Plan and follow the best route to ensure timely delivery of goods and passengers.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of vehicles under your care.
- Handle customer grievances and other issues professionally and timely.
- Report any incidents, faults or accidents to the management immediately following laid down process.
- Participate in training and courses to stay abreast of developments in the transport industry.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper use of assigned vehicles
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road regulations, and company safety procedures at all times.
- Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance (log book).
- Minimum of 5 yearsof proven professional driving experience.
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License
- Good knowledge of Lagos and interstate routes
- Ability to drive long distances when required
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques.
- Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading duties when required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be responsible, punctual, and disciplined.
