## Title: Executive Chef – Signature Lounge
About the Role
Venmac Resources Limited is seeking an experienced Executive Chef for Signature Lounge Kubwa in Abuja, Nigeria. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and creating menus that are both innovative and profitable, while satisfying the needs and preferences of our clientele. You will report directly to the MD/GM.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative, profitable menus that meet client preferences and operational objectives
- Train, develop, and motivate supervisors and culinary staff to meet and exceed established food preparation standards consistently
- Teach food preparation according to well-defined recipes and identify ways to continuously improve cuisine quality
- Provide exceptional leadership by creating a positive work environment, counseling employees appropriately, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional management approach
- Provide direction for all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties during absences or identify appropriate replacements
- Set performance standards for subordinates and monitor performance effectively
- Use interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence kitchen staff
- Advocate sound financial and business decision-making while demonstrating honesty and integrity
- Improve service by communicating with individuals to understand guest needs and provide coaching when needed
- Delegate appropriately to develop supervisors and subordinates who can accept responsibility and meet clearly defined goals
- Review staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
- Actively participate in menu development and maintain updated, accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold
- Determine food presentation methods and create decorative food displays
- Ensure full compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Chef in a high-end establishment
- Strong menu design and culinary innovation skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Deep knowledge of food preparation, costing, and kitchen operations
- Expertise in food handling, sanitation, and safety compliance
- Strong financial acumen and business decision-making skills
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
