Experienced Basic Tech and Technical Drawing Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and experienced teacher to join our academic team at Distinct Star School in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in Basic Technology and Technical Drawing, helping students develop strong practical and theoretical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with national and British educational standards
• Teach technical drawing principles including orthographic and isometric projections, and dimensioning
• Instruct basic technology concepts such as electronics and mechanics
• Evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and projects; provide timely feedback and maintain accurate academic records
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment conducive to creativity and discipline
• Integrate hands-on projects, design-based learning, and computer-aided design (CAD) tools where applicable
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, extracurricular activities, and parent communication

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Ed, B.Sc, or B.Tech) in Technical Drawing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Fine Arts with technical focus, or a related field. HND holders with relevant qualifications are also considered
• Teaching qualification such as PGDE or valid teaching license (highly recommended)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Technical Drawing or Basic Technology at the secondary school level
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawing conventions and drafting
• Familiarity with CAD software (advantageous)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, classroom management, and problem-solving skills
