About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in grammar, comprehension, composition, and literature
• Use modern teaching methods and ICT tools to enhance learning outcomes
• Guide students in analyzing prose, poetry, and drama for examinations and appreciation
• Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, and continuous assessment records
• Support students in developing confidence in oral and written communication
• Integrate Islamic morals such as honesty, modesty, and respect into learning activities
• Encourage debate, reading clubs, and creative writing projects
• Provide regular feedback to students and parents
• Participate in staff training, departmental meetings, and school events
• Maintain high academic standards and discipline in the classroom

Required Qualifications

• B.Ed. or B.A. Degree in English, English Education, or related disciplines
• 3–5 years of experience teaching English at secondary level
• PGDE or TRCN certification preferred
• Excellent knowledge of WAEC/NECO and IGCSE standards
