About the Role

The Electronic Technician (ET) is the designated electronics specialist responsible for the maintenance, repair, operation, and material control of all electronic equipment on board the rig. The ET ensures all electronic equipment remains functional throughout operations to minimize downtime and maintains all electronic and electrical systems within safety and regulatory compliance standards. The technician will advise the Rig Maintenance Supervisor on all electronic maintenance and repair requirements and operational status of electronic systems as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Rig Maintenance Supervisor on the day-to-day management and long-range stewardship of the rig
• Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and correct or notify responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions
• Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings, Observation programs, and special operations safety meetings; report any concerns or issues appropriately
• Maintain adequate inventory levels for equipment under area of responsibility; order stock in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensure all lock-out tag-out procedures are followed and all hazards and risks are identified prior to starting work on electrical equipment
• Assist with third-party equipment inspections as required and verify all third-party electronic equipment is compatible with use on the rig

Qualifications and Experience

• High School diploma or similar education qualification
• Minimum 5 years oilfield experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the role of Electronic Technician onboard an offshore installation
• Offshore Survival (OPIT) certification
