Economics & Business Studies Teacher

Job Purpose

We seek an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of GCSE and A-Level Economics & Business Studies to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that develop students' academic understanding, analytical thinking, and real-world commercial awareness. The successful candidate will play a full role in pastoral care, the co-curricular programme, and the wider life of the School.

Key Responsibilities

Child Protection, Discipline, Health & Safety

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people at the School
• Maintain good order and discipline among students
• Safeguard student health and safety both on School premises and during authorised School activities elsewhere
• Ensure all staff act in accordance with School policies and procedures

Teaching

• Plan, prepare and teach well-structured lessons
• Teach students according to their educational needs, setting and marking work, including examinations
• Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students, differentiating appropriately
• Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
• Promote the general progress and wellbeing of individual students and assigned classes or groups
• Manage student behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
• Demonstrate good understanding of a range of specific learning difficulties
• Communicate and consult effectively with parents of students
• Communicate and cooperate with persons or bodies outside the School
