About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our team. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of people or goods, which requires adherence to traffic laws, route planning, and basic vehicle maintenance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles (cars, vans, trucks, or buses) to transport goods, materials, or personnel to specified locations
• Plan and follow efficient routes, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and delivery requirements, often using GPS navigation
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including seatbelt use and speed limits
• Safely load, unload, and secure cargo or passengers and their belongings
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, check fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and report any issues for repair
• Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, deliveries, and any incidents
• Interact with customers, clients, or passengers in a professional and friendly manner
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate activities

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• OND, HND, or NCE qualification
• 6-8 years of driving experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and good navigational skills
• Physical ability to lift and carry materials if needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
