Drilling Engineering Supervisor at Ellasot Consulting

Job Purpose

To lead and manage drilling engineering activities to ensure wells are designed and executed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively in line with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for drilling operations and well delivery strategy
• Supervise and mentor drilling engineers and field personnel
• Develop and approve drilling programs, casing designs, and well architectures
• Monitor daily operations, analyze performance, and resolve drilling challenges
• Control operational costs and optimize drilling performance (ROP, NPT)
• Oversee contractor performance and service quality
• Support contract management and procurement decisions
• Ensure drilling programs comply with HSE regulations, industry standards, and well control guidelines (IWCF/IADC)

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• 18+ years of experience in drilling, completions, or well engineering
• Valid IWCF/IADC Well Control Certification (supervisor level preferred)
• Strong knowledge of well control, drilling fluids, directional drilling, casing design, and rig operations
• Proficiency with drilling software (Landmark, WellPlan, Compass, StressCheck, etc.)
• Experience with both onshore and offshore wells is an advantage
