Drilling Engineer at Ellasot Consulting

Job Purpose

To plan, design, and supervise drilling operations safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, ensuring all wells are drilled to technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed well designs, drilling programs, and cost estimates
• Perform offset well analysis, pore pressure/fracture gradient prediction, and casing design
• Select drilling fluid systems, bits, and bottom-hole assembly (BHA) configurations
• Monitor daily drilling performance and ensure adherence to drilling program
• Optimize ROP, mud parameters, hydraulics, and BHA performance
• Ensure drilling programs comply with HSE regulations, industry standards, and well control guidelines (IWCF/IADC)
• Participate in well reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and safety meetings
• Prepare post-well reports and lessons-learned documentation
• Coordinate with service companies for tools, drilling fluids, logging, cementing, and completions services

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in drilling, completions, or well engineering
• Valid IWCF/IADC Well Control Certification (supervisor level preferred)
• Strong knowledge of well control, drilling fluids, directional drilling, casing design, and rig operations
• Proficiency with drilling software (Landmark, WellPlan, Compass, StressCheck, etc.)
• Experience with both onshore and offshore wells is an advantage
