## Title: Director of Administration
About the Role
The Federal Ministry of Health seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Director of Administration. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day general administration of the Hospital and serve as Chief Adviser to the Chief Medical Director on all administrative matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Chief Medical Director for all general administrative operations
- Serve as Chief Adviser to the Chief Medical Director on administrative matters
- Act as Secretary to the Board of Management
- Oversee all departments responsible for administration
- Participate in the formulation, execution, and review of policies as directed by the Chief Medical Director and Board of Management
- Coordinate the activities of all support departments within the Hospital
- Manage Board correspondence and maintain comprehensive Hospital records
- Perform additional functions as assigned by the Board or Chief Medical Director
Required Qualifications
- First degree from a recognized University in Hospital/Health Services Management, Humanities, or Social Sciences
- Minimum of 20 years of post-qualification cognate experience in an administrative cadre within a government establishment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Deputy Director in a Government establishment
- Current membership as an Associate member of the Institute of Health Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN)
- ICT proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree or other relevant higher degrees in a related field
Tenure Terms
- Initial appointment term of four (4) years, with eligibility for re-appointment
- Tenure includes any period previously served in other public service organizations
- Candidate must not have attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 years or completed 35 years of service, whichever comes first
