Digital Senior Research Officer (Nigeria) at BBC Media Action

About the Role

BBC Media Action's Nigeria office is seeking a Digital Senior Research Officer to support the implementation of research activities for a reproductive health project in northern Nigeria. You will work closely with the Research and Data Manager to conduct research on digital audiences, advance understanding of digital metrics, and measure the impact of digital outputs on the project.

Reporting and Location

This position reports to the Research and Data Manager and works closely with the Head of Research and Learning. The role is based in Abuja and requires travel to other states within Nigeria.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with digital and social media partners to conduct social listening and track social media analytics, measuring reach and engagement of project outputs
• Work with social media agencies to use AI in identifying proxies for digital indicators and tracking
• Pre-test and user test digital products, including AB testing of social media outputs, mobile phone IVR testing with audience segments, and mobile data tracking
• Design and undertake social media and digital research analysis to understand audience uptake of project outputs and support continuous development and dissemination of media and communication products
• Support the design, development, and implementation of improved data analytics systems, including segmentation and visualisation using existing social media and digital data
• Support and mentor research and project team members in using data analytics systems
• Conduct analysis of social media and digital datasets and communicate insights to stakeholders
