JOB PURPOSE:
- This role provides specialized nutrition and dietetic support for oncology patients receiving care at Medserve–LUTH Cancer Centre.
- The Dietician will assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, and provide evidence-based dietary interventions to support cancer treatment, recovery, symptom management, and quality of life. The role operates on a Part-time basis, with scheduled on-site clinical support as required.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for oncology patients;
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans aligned with cancer treatment protocols;
- Provide dietary counselling to manage treatment-related side effects such as weight loss, malnutrition, nausea, fatigue, and appetite changes;
- Support patients before, during, and after chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other cancer treatments;
- Deliver virtual and in-person consultations in line with the Centre’s hybrid care model;
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care;
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic nutrition, meal planning, and lifestyle modification;
- Monitor patient progress and update nutrition plans based on clinical outcomes;
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies;
- Ensure adherence to professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and healthcare regulations;
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions where required;
- Contribute to patient education programs, wellness initiatives, and cancer support services;
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, or clinical reviews related to nutrition services where required;
- Keep informed on advancements in oncology nutrition and evidence-based practice;
- Perform administrative duties and clinical documentation as required.
- Ability to work independently and manage clinical workload effectively;
- Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team;
- Excellent communication and counselling skills;
- High level of professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential patient information;
- Strong organizational and documentation skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and virtual consultation platforms;
