## Title: Dental Nurse

About the Role

We seek a dedicated and skilled Dental Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain dental equipment, instruments, and materials within the dental surgery
  • Carry out infection control and decontamination procedures
  • Record dental charting carried out by clinicians (if applicable)
  • Prepare, mix, and handle dental materials
  • Provide chair-side support to dentists, therapists, and hygienists throughout a range of dental procedures
  • Provide support and reassurance to patients
  • Provide administrative support including making appointments, taking payments, and managing paperwork
  • Ensure all equipment in the surgery room is functioning optimally
  • Set up the surgery for procedures
  • Carry out routine checks on patient well-being
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Train other dental nurses on job practices
  • Supervise other dental nurses and manage roster generation
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Dental Nursing or Dental Surgery Technician
  • 2–5 years of relevant work experience
  • Previous experience in a dental clinic (preferred but not compulsory)

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compliance: strict adherence to organizational and sector policies and procedures; ability to seek approval from correct authority for changes
  • Integrity and confidentiality: ability to adhere to high ethical standards and experience dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Personal acceptability and professional demeanor
