## Title: Database and System Administrator
Job Summary
The Database and System Administrator is responsible for the overall management, security, performance, and reliability of the company and its customers' IT systems and databases. This role ensures that business-critical applications and data are available, optimized, and secure while maintaining the underlying servers and system infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain database servers (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting issues
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures to optimize efficiency
- Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls, backups, and recovery plans
- Execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction
- Perform regular data integrity checks and troubleshoot database-related issues
- Write and deploy SQL patches
- Design, implement, and maintain customers' IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security policies
- Administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Cloud, and virtualization technologies
- Proactively manage and maintain server, cloud, network, storage systems, and virtualization platforms
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT services
- Implement system updates and upgrades
- Provide technical support for system and database issues
- Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications by collaborating with other teams
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Provide end-to-end delivery of IT business systems integration and support requirements
