## Title: Credit and Risk Analyst

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our team as a Credit and Risk Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Control Manager to assess credit applications
  • Conduct preliminary interviews with loan applicants
  • Monitor the sales team for emerging risks and develop a robust system to identify, manage and control credit, market and operational risks
  • Prepare timely, comprehensive and reliable credit risk reports to senior management and board on a regular basis
  • Assist in the development of risk policies, procedures, and standards
  • Review all loan documents and agreements to ensure they are complete, valid and in accordance with the company's guidelines
  • Assess the creditworthiness of existing or prospective clients
  • Ensure proper documentation of credits by adhering to set documentation standards and procedures
  • Work out plans and strategies for delinquent customers and provide additional support with respect to exposures requiring legal action
  • Review and analyze the delinquent portfolio to identify key causal factors, make recommendations and track them to ensure adequate and timely closure
  • Carry out any other tasks as required from time to time

Required Qualifications

  • HND or B.Sc. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines
  • 2 years of experience as an analyst in a Microfinance Bank (major consideration)

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong ethical behavior and ability to work with sensitive financial information
  • Excellent knowledge of loan application procedures and best lending practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills, sound assessment and time management abilities
