About the Role

A reputable hospitality organization seeks a dedicated Cook to join their team. Our client is a major player in the hospitality industry, currently located in Amawbia, Anambra State. Due to increasing activities, they urgently require an experienced Cook with a strong background in catering and food preparation.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of four years' experience in catering
• Five years' experience cooking African and continental dishes
• Holder of OND, HND, or BSc qualification
• Previous experience working in a hotel setting is advantageous
• Preferably residing in Awka, Amawbia, or nearby areas

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
• Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in food preparation
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
• Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences
• Plate and present dishes in an attractive and appetizing manner
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
• Monitor food waste and implement strategies to reduce waste
• Manage kitchen operations during shifts
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and management
• Follow established portion control guidelines
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues
• Complete other assignments as directed by management
