## Title: Sous Chef at South Kitchen & Lounge

About the Position

South Kitchen & Lounge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity at our Ibadan and Abeokuta locations. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining food safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to coordinate kitchen activities efficiently during service hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen supervision
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes
  • Oversee kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and provide training where necessary
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and reduce food wastage
  • Enforce proper hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures across all kitchen activities
  • Collaborate with management to improve kitchen efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Step in to lead the kitchen during the Head Chef's absence

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food presentation
  • Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet operational timelines
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Culinary certification or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage
