## Title: Conflict Prevention and Peace Building Officer

Position Summary

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to plan, coordinate, and implement activities that promote gender equality, social inclusion, and conflict prevention within target communities. This role involves working closely with community members, local leaders, women's groups, youth groups, and other stakeholders to build capacity, facilitate dialogue, and support initiatives that foster peaceful and inclusive societies.

The officer will report directly to the Program Manager, Gender and Peace Building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement gender-sensitive interventions and peace-building initiatives in line with project objectives
  • Facilitate community dialogues, sensitization campaigns, and training sessions on gender equality, women's empowerment, social cohesion, and conflict resolution
  • Support the establishment or strengthening of community structures that promote peaceful coexistence and gender equity
  • Identify and document gender and conflict-related issues within communities and propose context-appropriate solutions
  • Collaborate with local authorities, traditional leaders, and civil society partners to advance gender and peace-building objectives
  • Integrate gender mainstreaming and conflict-sensitive approaches into all program activities
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on project progress, challenges, and success stories
  • Ensure project activities comply with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and local cultural dynamics
  • Support resource mobilization efforts
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, or related fields
  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of gender equality concepts
